#CDW2024 – Day 1 Highlights

Renew, Refresh & Redefine:

Exploring the Essence of Circular Design and Reuse

Despite the rain, the first day of Clerkenwell Design Week was a resounding success, with visitors flocking to the showrooms to explore the latest in circular design and its latest innovations. The adverse weather did little to dampen the spirits of design enthusiasts and industry professionals, who were eager to engage with our showroom’s offerings.

A major highlight of the day was the product launch of the modular Circular Armchair by Jott Studio. This new product drew significant attention for its sleek design and sustainable ethos. The modular aspect making it a hit among attendees looking for stylish yet adaptable furniture solutions.

The first of three scheduled talks also saw a full turnout, underscoring the high level of interest in the discussions and knowledge-sharing sessions at Clerkenwell Design Week. Yesterday’s talk, Our Journey to Circular Design was expertly chaired by Roddy Clarke from OnOffice, who guided the conversation on contemporary design trends and sustainable practices.

Throughout the hustle and bustle of prepping and organising for CDW we have managed to revamp our sustainability corner in the showroom. This dedicated space exhibits a wide variety new product as well-established ones focused on eco-friendly design, reflecting the growing importance of sustainability in the industry.

As the next two days progresses, stay tuned for more updates and highlights and insightful talks from both Wagstaff & Umbrella Furniture and our furniture partners: Edsbyn, FDB Møbler, Isomi, Jott Studio, Le Klint, Normann Copenhagen, OnOffice magazine, Square Bear, Swatchbox, Swedese, Ton, True Design, Waste to Wonder, Works magazine and architectural film partner T6.

We’ve planned a series of exciting talks and workshops over the three-day festival.
